Bending Wire Forms

Overview

Overview: MCP utilizes multiple bending processes including CNC bending, rotary bending and press bending, all depending on the part volume and configuration. Extensive secondary forming, machining and processing capabilities allow for an endless configuration of rod fabrications and wireforms. Design Cost Tips: • specify a minimum straight length of at least 4 material diameters on end straight lengths to eliminate secondary cut-to-length operations • avoid having bend radii intersect with flattened transition areas • flattened rod sections can be bent to eliminate welded tabs • allow a minimum of 4 material diameters of straight length between bends • choose inside bend radii that are a minimum of one material diameter (ie: on a 0.500" diameter bar, have an inside bend radius of at least 0.500") Dimensioning Tips: • based dimensions on centerline dimensions except for bend radii (which should be based on inside radius)
